The Pianet's voice comes from a set of reeds plucked by an adhesive pad on each key rather than a hammer or tine — a simple, elegant design, but one where the pads themselves are a known wear item. Pad replacement is essentially always part of a proper Pianet restoration, and it's central to getting the responsive, even touch these instruments are known for. We prioritize period-correct vintage components whenever possible, and turn to the best available reproduction parts when originals are no longer viable.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eDesigned by Ernst Zacharias and introduced in 1965, the Pianet N is the classic first-generation Pianet, built around ground stainless steel reeds, a variable-capacitance pickup, and leather-faced activation pads.
