Processing & Restoration Time
Most instruments listed as restorations are sold before final restoration work begins. After purchase, our team will contact you within 1–2 business days with an estimated restoration timeline based on the specific instrument and scope of work. Fully restored, showroom-ready instruments typically ship or are available for pickup within 1-3 business days of purchase.
Local Pickup
Local pickup is available at our Chicago workshop (3240 W Division St, Chicago, IL 60651), most weekdays 10am–6pm. We'll email you when your instrument is ready and coordinate a pickup time.
Freight Shipping (Instruments)
Given their size, weight, and fragility, pianos and other large instruments ship via specialty freight services rather than standard parcel carriers. Each instrument is professionally packed/crated to protect it in transit. Freight shipping is not charged at checkout — once your instrument is fully restored and ready to ship, we calculate the cost based on your destination and send a separate invoice before it goes out. We currently ship within the continental United States and to many international territories.
Cosmetic Customizations
Any cosmetic customization add-ons (new tolex, custom paint, wood refinishing, and similar work) are completed as part of your instrument's restoration and ship together with it — there's no separate shipping charge for these add-ons.
Parts & Accessories
Smaller items (parts, accessories, apparel) ship via USPS or UPS and typically ship out within 1-3 business days of purchase.
Damage in Transit
Please inspect your instrument upon arrival. If it arrives damaged, contact us at info@chicagoelectricpiano.com or (312) 476-9528 within 5 days with photos of the damage and packaging, and we'll work with you and the carrier to resolve it.
