Our Wurlitzer restoration process is among the most meticulous in the world, with over 30 hours of expert craftsmanship devoted to every instrument. Throughout our restoration process we prioritize using period-correct vintage components whenever possible, or select the highest quality reproduction parts when necessary. Each restoration is carefully tailored to bring out the very best in the Wurlitzer's action, touch, and iconic tone while remaining true to its original character, earning our highest seal of approval.

This is a later 200-era piano (1971-1974), characterized by very warm bass and midrange punch — a tone that mellows out further in the late 1970's and early 1980's as the Wurlitzer sound became progressively more balanced across the keyboard.

A note on noise: the 200 is often considered noisier than the 200A, but nearly all of the 200A's noise-reduction improvements can be incorporated during restoration. Combined with the installation of a Warneck Research amplifier and additional improvements to grounding, shielding, and lead dress, our restorations achieve a noise floor ready for professional recording and performance.
