This piano comes from the "Early Torrington" period (1971-1973), one of the most iconic periods for the Mark I. The thick, cube-shaped hammer tips paired with Torrington tines give this era its tone: a thick, dark thump in the bass and a sparkly, bright attack in the treble. This is the barkiest of all Rhodes eras, heard on early Stevie Wonder records, Chick Corea's Return to Forever, and many more classic records.
