Every Farfisa combo organ we restore for sale goes through the same meticulous process we're known for, with dozens of hours devoted to bringing each instrument to exceptional playing condition. We prioritize period-correct vintage components whenever possible, and turn to the best available reproduction parts when originals are no longer viable — always working to preserve the instrument's original character and unmistakable combo organ tone. We modernized the power supply to provide exceptional stability and reliability while leaving the original germanium tone circuitry intact. The result is an organ that plays, sounds, and holds up better than it likely has since it left the factory.
This organ comes from Farfisa's original Compact series (1964-1969), the line that put Farfisa on the map as Vox's biggest combo organ rival. Compact-series organs are unusual for being only partially transistorized — the reverb and preamp circuits run on vacuum tubes — while germanium transistors generate the tone, which give them a distinct reedy but warm sound. It's the sound behind Sam the Sham & the Pharaohs' "Wooly Bully," the Grateful Dead's earliest lineup with Ron "Pigpen" McKernan, and Richard Wright's first Farfisa setup with Pink Floyd.
The Compact Deluxe builds on the standard Combo Compact with additional voicing options, including a 2-2/3' footage with its own independent "brilliant" tab. Later Deluxe units also added an onboard rhythm section with brush cymbal and drum sounds.
Included with this instrument are the bass pedals that are often missing, it's the complete package!
