Every Hohner Clavinet we restore for sale goes through the same meticulous process we're known for, with dozens of hours devoted to bringing each instrument to exceptional playing condition. Unlike a Rhodes or Wurlitzer, the Clavinet doesn't use tines or reeds at all — it's built around a set of strings, dampened at rest, that are struck by rubber-tipped hammers and read by a magnetic pickup, closer in spirit to an electric guitar than a piano. We prioritize period-correct vintage components whenever possible, and turn to the best available reproduction parts when originals are no longer viable, always working to preserve the instrument's percussive, funky character.

The Clavinet/Pianet Duo was Hohner's answer for players who wanted both instruments without hauling two separate cases: a D6-spec Clavinet and a Pianet built into a single shared cabinet, switchable between voices (and layerable, on units wired for it). Electronically it's on the same footing as the D6 and E7 — more roadworthy, quieter, and better shielded against proximity hum than the earliest Clavinets — just packaged as a true two-in-one.
