Every Hohner Pianet we restore for sale goes through the same meticulous process we're known for, with dozens of hours devoted to bringing each instrument to exceptional playing condition. The Pianet's voice comes from a set of reeds plucked by an adhesive pad on each key rather than a hammer or tine — a simple, elegant design, but one where the pads themselves are a known wear item. Pad replacement is essentially always part of a proper Pianet restoration, and it's central to getting the responsive, even touch these instruments are known for. We prioritize period-correct vintage components whenever possible, and turn to the best available reproduction parts when originals are no longer viable.

Designed by Ernst Zacharias and introduced in 1965, the Pianet N is the classic first-generation Pianet, built around ground stainless steel reeds, a variable-capacitance pickup, and leather-faced activation pads. It remained in production until 1977, and this same basic design covers most of the earlier Pianet variants we see come through the shop.
