Every Hohner Pianet we restore for sale goes through the same meticulous process we're known for, with dozens of hours devoted to bringing each instrument to exceptional playing condition. The Pianet's voice comes from a set of reeds plucked by an adhesive pad on each key rather than a hammer or tine — a simple, elegant design, but one where the pads themselves are a known wear item. Pad replacement is essentially always part of a proper Pianet restoration, and it's central to getting the responsive, even touch these instruments are known for. We prioritize period-correct vintage components whenever possible, and turn to the best available reproduction parts when originals are no longer viable.

Introduced in 1977 as Hohner moved to a new generation of Pianet design, the Pianet T replaced the Pianet N's leather-and-foam pads with molded silicone rubber pads (based on adhesive technology originally patented by NASA) plucking rolled spring-steel reeds through an electromagnetic pickup — a smoother-milled reed finish that gives the T a noticeably mellower voice than the N, though it also means Pianet T parts aren't interchangeable with earlier models.
